'Skyfall' makes record $119m in first full week of US release

17-Nov-2012 • Skyfall

"Skyfall" has raked in $119.8m in its first full week of release in the USA and Canada, including the Thursday early IMAX screenings.

In comparison, "Quantum of Solace" took $82.1m in 2008 and "Casino Royale" made just $63.3m in 2006 in their first full week on release.

The Thanksgiving holiday in America next week also bodes well for extra ticket sales. Even a 50% drop in take in its second week would see its total climb close to the $200m mark and smash all records at the domestic box-office for 007 (not accounting for inflation).

But even though the final "Twilight" movie is opening this weekend, "Skyfall" should do better than a 50% hold over given the performance in other countries around the world.

Prepare for more records to be broken...
