Judi Dench speaks out about 'Skyfall' failing to make the best picture shortlist at this year's Oscars

03-Feb-2013 • Actor News

The 7 time "M" to Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig's Bonds has spoken to the media about the fact that 007's 50th anniversary adventure did not make the prestigious Best Picture shortlist at the 2013 Oscars.

"I'm very, very sorry that nothing has been recognised," she told Eddie Mair of the BBC.

"That's a great pity. I thought Sam Mendes directed it absolutely beautifully. It was a terrific film."

The 78 year old actress went on to say: "I think it's good luck if you get an Oscar nomination and bad luck if you don't."

Despite missing out on the big Best Picture nod, "Skyfall" received nominations in five other categories and the Academy is preparing a celebration of 50 years of 007 at their awards ceremony held later this month.
