Ben Whishaw talks 'Peter And Alice' and teases Bond 24

Ben "Q" Whishaw is currently appearing in "Skyfall" scribe, John Logan's play "Peter And Alice".

"I didn't know their story or how desperately sad their lives had been," says Whishaw of the characters. Peter, the middle son of JM Barry (Peter Pan's creator) did use all three of his children as inspiration for the character, but borrowed Peter's name, and the boy suffered ever since. Alice Liddell Hargreaves was likewise an influence for a famed children's author: Lewis Carol, who created "Alice In Wonderland". The play centres on their meeting in a bookshop in 26 June 1932.

"He lost his mind… his brothers said he never really recovered." Whishaw explains to the Guardian that Peter was "famously – or infamously – melancholic, yet witty too".

The play acknowledges something that Whishaw, as an actor, has had to deal with: "the hazy line between fiction and you".

Of "Skyfall", the actor says that hints from John Logan have been coming, and Whishaw is excited by the prospect that the Bond 24 screenwriter will not keep Q in the dark of the office for the entirety of the forthcoming adventure - at least not if Whishaw has his way!
