Tabloids finally apologise to Sir Roger Moore for deprecating headlines

01-Apr-2013 • Actor News

It has taken over four months for the tabloid, The People, to apologise for a headline they ran claiming Roger Moore had announced to them that he, the star, had "had" more women than 007.

The headline was later syndicated in the Daily Mail.

Moore, rather than Press Complaints Commission, took the papers to court. This the Guardian comments, has the advantage of earning Moore damages from the press agency, but also takes substantially longer to process such a case.

"We now accept that Sir Roger did not give an interview to our reporter and did not make the comments that were reported in the headline," read the paper's statement.
