Ben 'Q' Whishaw rules himself out of Dr Who role

25-Jun-2013 • Actor News

English actor Ben Whishaw, who took over the famous role of 'Q' in the James Bond series in 2012's blockbuster "Skyfall", has ruled himself out of becoming the next Doctor Who – because it would be ‘wrong’ for him to play the new Time Lord.

Whishaw said he couldn’t take over from Matt Smith because he’s already played gadget master Q.

He told reporters: ‘It’s not going to be me. But I don’t mind – I don’t think you can be Q and Doctor Who. It would be a bit wrong.’

As MI6 confirmed earlier this year, Whishaw, alongside with fellow secret service staffers Ralph Fiennes (M) and Naomie Harris (Moneypenny) are optioned for the next two 007 adventures opposite Daniel Craig.
