Timothy Dalton cast in Logan and Mendes TV project

24-Aug-2013 • Actor News

Former James Bond star Timothy Dalton has been cast in the new television project headed up by 'Skyfall' co-screen writer John Logan and director Sam Mendes. The duo are also re-teaming for Bond 24 in 2015.

The eight-part 'literary horror' television mini-series 'Penny Dreadful' will be written by Logan, whilst Mendes is executive producing.

Dalton has been cast in the role of Sir Malcolm, a hardened African explorer on a deeply personal quest. He joins fellow Bond alumna Eva Green.

Featuring Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray and iconic figures from the Dracula novel, the project has been lauded by Showtime boss David Nevins as “smart and psychological, but we’re not going to be gentle with the horror. I think it’s going to scare the shit out of people.”

Production starts in October this year, for broadcast in 2014.
