James Bond novel 'Solo' hits bookstores in the USA today

08-Oct-2013 • Literary

The latest James Bond continuation novel, 'Solo', hits bookshelves in the USA and Canada today, although some bookstores have been reported to have sold it several days early.

William Boyd is the third author in recent years to be invited by the Ian Fleming estate to write an official Bond novel, following in the footsteps of the American thriller writer Jeffery Deaver, who wrote Carte Blanche in 2011, and Sebastian Faulks, whose Devil May Care was published to mark Ian Fleming's centenary in 2008.

'Solo' is published in the USA by Harper.

Back home in the UK, the book enjoyed lavish launch events, but hardback sales figures in its first week failed to live up to the hype.
