Naomie Harris confirms she has signed for Moneypenny role in Bond 24

22-Nov-2013 • Spectre (2015)

Actress Naomie Harris, who debuted as Eve Moneypenny in the 2012 record-breaking "Skyfall", has confirmed to press during her tour promoting the new Nelson Mandella biopic, that she has signed to reprise her role in Bond 24.

This should be no surprise to MI6 readers as we announced last year that Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Ralph Fiennes were optioned for Bond 24 and Bond 25 as Moneypenny, Q and M respectively (until the end of Daniel Craig's current contract).

Speaking to the NY Daily News, Harris talked more about how she was cast for the role:

“The producers came to me and said, ‘Look, what we’re trying to do is to create a Moneypenny that represents the modern woman. We’re trying to reinvent and revamp this character,’ ” says Harris. “That was really exciting, because I wanted to make women think to themselves, ‘I can be like that.’”

Of course, being “like that” during filming was a bit tricky.

“I was nervous about all the stunts!” Harris admits. “I always think, ‘Oh, no,’ because I am the clumsiest person ever. So I always end up getting bruised, falling down, bashing my head.”
