05-Nov-2015 • Actor News

Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman, how appears as Estrella in the opening sequence of 'SPECTRE', talked to Vanity Fair about her brief Bond Girl role and major part in the new Netflix series 'Narcos':

FIELD TRIPS: Sigman’s father is a scout for the New York Yankees. “I grew up in baseball stadiums. It was my two brothers and baseball around me all the time. I knew nothing about film or acting or theater when I was young!”

BOLD MOVE: As a teenager she moved to Mexico City to pursue modeling and subsequently acting. “When you’re 16 years old, you’re not afraid of anything.”

SCREEN SIREN: The actress, whose big break came in 2011’s critically lauded Miss Bala, can currently be seen as Pablo Escobar’s mistress Valeria Vélez on the Netflix series Narcos. “[Valeria] is in love with power—as is Escobar. Their egos fell in love with each other.”

FASHION STATEMENT: There are perks to a show set against a backdrop of the 1980s Colombian drug war: “The clothes are the best part of my character. And the makeup, and the hair, and the high heels!”

THE MAJOR LEAGUES: Sigman is set to make major waves as a Bond girl in this month’s 007 film, Spectre. “I was nervous. I’m in a Bond film directed by Sam Mendes, with Daniel Craig. I want it to be perfect.”
