Anthony Horowitz would be open to another James Bond novel

27-Jul-2016 • Literary

Author Anthony Horowitz, who penned 2015's 'Trigger Mortis' continuation novel, would be up for returning to the James Bond literary series again.

"I would certainly consider it," he told Digital Spy of possibly writing a follow-up. "I did love writing Trigger Mortis and I'm a huge fan of Ian Fleming."

He stipulated that any potential new Bond novel would have to fit into his busy schedule, which includes writing original works and a new book featuring his teen spy Alex Rider.

"I'm already writing another Alex Rider novel, which is coming next," he said."I also have an idea for a series of whodunnits...

"So in all that writing, if there is time to do another Bond and if I'm asked to do another Bond, I'd certainly think about it."

Unless this is a smoke screen, it's clear that Horowitz has not been asked to return, and with no new novel announced by Ian Fleming Publications, the next author is either yet to be signed up, or is keeping a very low profile.
