Bond and Frost to sport cashmere clothing products

20-Oct-2002 • Die Another Day

The BBC have reported how a traditional Scottish cashmere firm created special products for Bond and frost in Die Another Day:

Bond star Pierce Brosnan becomes the spy who loved cashmere as he wears a chunky charcoal grey turtleneck sweater from Ballantyne Cashmere during an exciting sequence on the ice palace set.

The sweater was made specifically for 007, and Ballantyne will sell the same sweater in its Bond Street, London, store and selected stockists.

Rosamund Pike, who plays Miranda Frost in the film, is licensed to thrill in a frost grey boucle cashmere polo selected from the Ballantyne Cashmere Autumn Winter 2002/3 collection.

Ballantyne said it was "thrilled" to have worked alongside the Bond team to create the unique pieces.

Dawson International, which sells its own range of knitwear under the Ballantyne Cashmere brand, is based in Kinross, Tayside. It buys raw cashmere fibre from goat herds in Inner Mongolia and spins the yarn in Scotland.

The group has brought in a new Italian design and marketing team for its Ballantyne brand, which will unveil a new collection next year.
