Bookmakers report total confusion on James Bond #6 betting

10-Sep-2005 • Casino Royale

William Hill can report total confusion in the next James Bond Betting as punters back 14 different actors in a ten days. Clive Owen and Dougray Scott remain the best backed actors in the Hills book but in the last week there has been considerable support for both James Purefoy at 5/1 and Julian Mc Mahon at 6/1 - reports ReadABet.

Ewan McGregor, who at one point was Even money favourite, is now quoted as the 16/1 outsider following revelations that the producers feel that at 5ft 10in he is too short to be Bond!

"The money this week has been for James Purefoy and Julian Mahon because, of all the actors who have been associated with the role, they are probably the only pair actively seeking the role." said Hills spokesman Rupert Adams.

Latest Odds:
Clive Owen 2/1
Dougray Scott 7/2
Julian McMahon 6/1
James Purefoy 8/1
Daniel Craig 10/1
Hugh Jackman 10/1
Alex O'Lachlan 12/1
Christian Bale 12/1
Goran Visnjic 14/1
Adrian Paul Hewitt 16/1
