Writer Paul Haggis confirms no Bond Girl yet, but producers are `really narrowing it down`

15-Feb-2006 • Casino Royale

Writer Paul Haggis has revealed that casting of the female lead role in the forthcoming James Bond film Casino Royale has still not been decided. The Bond Girl role in the film has been the subject of much speculation, especially as filming as commenced in Prague with Daniel Craig, butt without an actress having been selected yet.

Speaking on the Craig Ferguson talk show in the USA last night, Haggis - who took over the script from regular Bond scribes Neal Pruvis and Robert Wade - confirmed that they had not cast the role of Vesper Lynd yet, but the producers were "really narrowing it down".

Two weeks ago, Haggis revealed to the Hollywood Reporter: "They're talking to three to four girls right now. Every week I read there's a new Bond girl, and I call them and they say, No, you idiot."
