Dougray Scott admits being linked to James Bond role in 2002

23-May-2006 • Actor News

Actor Dougray Scott has revealed Pierce Brosnan ruined his chance of being the next James Bond - reports the Daily Record.

The Glenrothes-born actor was in talks with filmmakers about taking over as 007 before the last adventure, Die Another Day.

But Brosnan performed a U-turn and agreed to play Bond one last time.

Dougray, who was then passed over for Daniel Craig, said: "I'm not sure if it was ever for me.

"They first talked to me about it five years ago but then Pierce Brosnan wanted another go.

"Good luck to Daniel."

Thanks to `James Bond [007]` for the alert.
