Eva Green says she was a reluctant Bond girl

04-Sep-2006 • Casino Royale

New Bond girl Eva Green has revealed that she never wanted to be a Bond girl for fear of being typecast - reports Entertainment Wise.

But after reading the script for ‘Casino Royale’ she changed her mind and will be appearing as Vesper Lynd in the forthcoming film.

She told the Star: “Mt first reaction was that it was a big action movie…it’s a Bond girl and I don’t want to do it.

“But then producer Barbara Broccoli insisted that I read the script. I read it and thought it was quite unusual. I was very much surprised by the relationship Bond has with Vesper.

“She’s not the stereotypical Bond girl. She’s the only woman who really gets to his heart and who shapes him.

“It’s beautiful love story. That’s why I wanted to do it. Not because it’s Bond.”

Green only has praise for her co-star Daniel Craig, she said: “What I like about Daniel is that he brings a lot of physicality to the part. He’s very centred and has this madness sin the eyes that I like.

“You never know what he’s going to do to you. Is he going to make love to you or kill you? You don’t know. He’s like an enigma.”
