Director Martin Campbell almost made M a lesbian

Casino Royale director Martin Campbell considered making Judi Dench's spymaster M a lesbian in the new James Bond movie. Campbell wanted to give Dench's character a raunchy side and also considered showing her in bed with a younger man - reports StarPulse

The filmmaker revealed at the film's UK premiere last night, "We came up with all kinds of ideas for M."

But 007 star Daniel Craig convinced him not to interfere with the character.

Craig says, "M bedding a woman, that's Martin's idea. At the beginning M is the only person he (Bond) cares about, and she cares about him. He's slightly flirtatious with her. I don't want it to go any further."
