US box-office opening night take estimated over $14 million

19-Nov-2006 • Casino Royale

BoxOfficeMojo have estimated that the opening night at the US box-office for Casino Royale has scooped approximately $14.9 million.

The 21st James Bond film opened on 3,434 screens in the USA on Friday 17th November 2006.

Estimates for the rest of the weekend are as follows:
Saturday 18th November 2006: $15,700,000
Sunday 19th November 2006: $10,000,000

If the estimates prove accurate, this would mean an opening weeekend total of around $40 million in the USA.

Back in the UK, Casino Royale took a record-breaking £1.7 million on Thursday, 16 November at the UK box office on opening night. Casino Royale previewed at cinemas all over the country and this £1.7 million figure shatters the existing box office record for the debut night of a new James Bond adventure. The last Bond film, Die Another Day, took. £1.1 million on its opening night in November 2002.
