Release date for SilverFin graphic novel set to 1st May 2008

13-Jun-2007 • Young Bond

The long awaited graphic novel of the first Young Bond adventure SilverFin will be released on 1st May 2008.

According to Bond And Beyond, the publication will retail for £7.99 in the UK.

Young Bond artist Kev Walker, who has supplied cover artwork and character portraits for the series by author Charlie Higson, is illustrating the graphic novel.

Ian Fleming Publications officially confirmed the SilverFin graphic novel was in the pipeline back in June 2006.

But the first news came on 24th April 2005 when IFP released the first image of Young Bond to BBC News, well before any Bond fansites got a whiff of the project. The official statement simply said, "SilverFin has been sold to 15 countries and a graphic novel based on Higson’s character will follow at the end of 2006". That release date has now been shifted to summer 2008.

Artist Kev Walker hinted to MI6 back in October 2005 that more projects were in the pipeline. Asked what we can expect in the future, Walker said "Like Charlie Higson I have a contract to do more work, other than that I'm saying nothing. It's a secret..."
