Eva Green will not be filming material for Bond 22

03-Dec-2007 • Quantum Of Solace

Contrary to earlier statements, Eva Green now says she will not be filming any new material for the 22nd James Bond film. Previously, she had said her character of Vesper Lynd would return via a pre-recorded video or webcam footage. Green was even reported to have an option on her contract to possibly return in one shape or another in the new film.

Green has now cooled such ideas in an interview with The Observer, where she stated she will not be reappearing in the as-yet-untitled Bond 22.

According to the report, Bond will try to have his little revenge for her death, pursuing Lynd's duplicitous Algerian boyfriend. 'So, yes there will be pictures [of Vesper] and things like that. I don't know who the Bond girl's gonna be. I'm a bit jealous! I hope it will be terrible,' she lies. 'I will be the love of his life!'

Back in November 2006 when Casino Royale was released, Green said, "she had an Algerian boyfriend, and she's been sent on this mission, and then she begins to feel guilty. She's in love with Bond. It's a deep love. The Algerian boyfriend was something light, an affair. So there's an internal conflict. The plan is, the Algerian boyfriend is going to be the baddie in the second Bond, and we'll understand [better]. But you don't have to think about it too much. "
