Jeffrey Wright briefly discusses `Quantum of Solace`

02-Feb-2008 • Quantum Of Solace

Jeffrey Wright is an acclaimed star of stage, screen and television. And he recently spoke with Access Hollywood about his BET new film "Blackout" and his upcoming return to the James Bond franchise in its 22nd installment, "Quantum of Solace." - reports Access Hollywood.

Wright's new film chronicles untold stories from the New York City blackout of 2003.

Wright, who is also a producer on the film, felt compelled to tell the story of people who are his friends and neighbors.

"It's a film about events that remained in the black during the blackout of 2003. The picture the mainstream media was painting was one of 'koombyah,' there was a different tenor in the rest of the city. The film shines some light on what went ignored," Wright told Access. "Details of murders and looting in Brooklyn happened completely under the radar. These are stories that need to be told."

Luckily, Wright was in London during the blackout, performing in the stage play, "Topdog/Underdog," avoiding the atrocities that occurred in the dark.

Wright didn't offer much in the way of inside information when asked about the asked about the title of the latest upcoming James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace," only mysteriously saying, "It's a pretty exotic title."

Wright said that fans can expect more continued action and intrigue from his character Felix Leiter, an ally of Bond's.

When asked about reports of Daniel Craig saying he would like James Bond to do a full-frontal nude scene in the upcoming "Quantum," Wright says with a laugh, "The world is ready for anything! But I'm not licensed to reveal that."

"Blackout," which also stars Zoe Saldana and Melvin Van Peebles, premieres Friday, February 1, on BET.
