Production cancels plans to film `Quantum of Solace` in Cusco, Peru

06-Mar-2008 • Quantum Of Solace

It was reported today that the new James Bond movie, scheduled for release by the end of this year, would no longer be filmed in Cusco, Peru - reports LivingInPeru.

Producers for "Quantum of Solace" have decided not to film in Cusco because of unpredictable weather conditions that could jeopardize the production team's work and the group of famous actors that are to take part in the new Bond movie.

According to Margarita Morales from Iguana Productions, the Peruvian company that was to assist EON, the production company will not risk filming at the Inca Citadel because of the bad weather conditions during this time of year.

"They aren't going to film anymore because special film conditions, which don't exist anymore, were required. The suspension is mainly due to climatic changes", said Morales.

Furthermore, Morales assured that filming had not been canceled because of protests or conflicts taking place in the region.

Filmmakers are on a tight schedule and they could not risk it raining, like it's doing so now, said Morales. "It wasn't because of the strike, at least that's not what the production team has said."
