Aston Martin DBS driver says he is `lucky to be alive`

21-Apr-2008 • Quantum Of Solace

The driver of 007’s Aston Martin DBS which plunged into a 150ft-deep lake said yesterday: “I’m lucky to be alive.”

Supercar engineer Fraser Dunn, 29, was knocked out as the £134,000 motor skidded off the road near Italy’s Lake Garda, where Bond movie Quantum Of Solace is being filmed, reports The Sun.

Fraser, who escaped with bruises, said: “The whole thing was James Bond-like. When I came to, the car was at the bottom of the lake.

“I kicked out of the car and swam to the surface. My lungs felt as if they were going to explode.”

The car was a write-off after Sunday’s crash.

Fraser, of Leamington Spa, Warwicks, said: “It’s very embarrassing.”
