Sony sells `Quantum Of Solace` distribution rights for South India

Sony Pictures Entertainment has sold the South India distribution rights of Quantum Of Solace to Vijaya Cine, an importer of foreign language films, which they dub and release in South India - reports BusinessOfCinema.

Sources said the deal has been struck for an amount of Rs 65 million (Rs 6.5 crores).

Vijaya Cine will release Quantum Of Solace in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Kerela, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where the film will be released with a total of 300 prints. Sony will undertake the dubbing of the movie in Tamil and Telugu.

Sony Pictures Entertainment managing director Kercy Daruwala confirmed the deal and said, "Yes, we sold the distribution of Quantum Of Solace to Vijay Cine because we received a viable offer from the company."

Sources further added that Sony is currently negotiating with a few companies for distribution rights of North India.
