Daniel Craig loses 007`s elegance as he practises stunt

24-Oct-2008 • Quantum Of Solace

Bond actor Daniel Craig broke with his most famous character’s sartorial elegance as he learnt to freefall for a stunt in the new 007 film Quantum of Solace - reports The Telegraph (click to view photo).

Sporting a yellow jumpsuit, a matching yellow-rimmed face mask and white socks, the normally suave actor spent three months training in a wind tunnel for a stunt in which a plane is shot down.

“It was extremely difficult and very dangerous,” said Craig.

Although he was replaced by an instructor for some of the more difficult shots, Craig has insisted on doing the majority of the stunts for the film, which is released next weekend, himself.

The actor’s portrayal of Bond has marked a grittier, more realistic direction for the long-running franchise.

Craig has sustained a number of injuries during filming. He recently admitted needing eight stitches and minor cosmetic surgery after being accidentally kicked in the face during a fight sequence.

In a separate incident, he was taken to hospital after slicing the tip off one of his fingers.

Craig’s co-star in the new film, the 22-year old Gemma Arterton, who plays MI6 operative Agent Fields, has also done her own stunts, and was yesterday seen rewarding herself with a shopping trip to London.
