James Bond earns recognition for the hotels at which he stays

24-Feb-2009 • Bond Style

James Bond movies pack the biggest punch for the profile of the hotels they are shot in, with three making a list of the top 10 hotels made famous on film.

Travel website hotels.com has identified the most popular hotels around the world made famous by movies and their stars - reports The West.

Topping the list is The Grand Hotel Pupp in the Czech Republic, the scene of Daniel Craig’s debut as Bond in Casino Royale (2006).

Further down the list at No 7 is the Taj Lake Palace Hotel in India, made famous by Roger Moore as Bond in Octopussy (1983).

And at No 9 is The British Colonial Hilton in the Bahamas, where Thunderball (1965) and Never Say Never Again (1983) were shot with Sean Connery as the lead.

The website’s director Johan Svanstrom said travellers were clearly influenced by star power.

“Many people want to have the chance to relive their favourite movie stars’ experience for themselves,” he said.
