Eon Productions deny Martin Campbell directing, script status, and filming location rumours

04-Jul-2003 • Casino Royale

Rumours that Martin Campbell was close to signing as director for "Bond 21" have been officially denied by Eon Productions today.

The French James Bond Club was in contact with Eon this morning and received the news that the rumour surrounding the director for the project, Pierce Brosnan`s fifth film as 007, was baseless and no decisions had been made.

Other rumours from various "insiders" claiming the first draft script for Bond 21 was complete, and that shooting locations in Liverpool and South Africa were being scouted, were also denied.

Eon have denied internet rumours in that past that have later proved to be true. Most recently, "face changing technology" was strongly denied during "Die Another Day" production in 2002, and then later appeared as a central part of the film`s plot.

Thanks to The French James Bond Club for their assistance.
