`Die Another Day` DVD and VHS rentals pass the $50m mark in USA

07-Jul-2003 • Die Another Day

Vidtrac have released the sales figures for the week ending June 29th 2003, and there is a mixture of good and bad news for "Die Another Day".

The bad news is that rental sales have dropped off since it has completed its fourth week on release, due to new titles pushing it down the chart. The DVD and VHS slipped down to 8th and 10th positions respectively. The DVD scooped $2.11m in rentals, whereas the VHS put another $1.17m on the total.

The running total of rental income brings good news for the title - "Die Another Day" has smashed the $50m barrier in only 26 days on release. Vidtrac listed the title as having earned $50.29m up to June 29th 2003. Bond`s twentieth screen adventure is set to become one of the highest grossing DVD releases of all time.

Thanks to MBE for the data.
