Laird Hamilton wanted to push Bond even further

World famous surfer Laird Hamilton, who doubles 007 in a surfing stunt sequence in "Die Another Day", wanted to push Bond even closer to the limits.

As if deliberately wiping out on the world`s most dangerous wave (appropriately named) "Jaws" was not enough, Hamilton wanted the sequence to use his own invention - a surf board hydrofoil.

The BBC describe how he and his fellow experts use his invention:

They want to ride deep ocean swell and big waves. They get towed in, as you have to with big waves, but after that you can glide across the wave. It`s a solid ride, yet in the air! It`s also possible to ride back out to sea or join up two or three waves and ride for much longer than previously possible. Mad. The idea is to be able to ride big ocean swells, waves that never break. This brings all kinds of possibilities to the sport and opens out the whole ocean to riding.
