Could the Young Bond series be returning in 2011? Probably not.

09-Dec-2009 • Young Bond

Is the Young Bond series set to return in 2011 with a new novel by author Charlie Higson? Yes, if a report in the Northants Evening Telegraph is accurate...

On Friday 27th November, the annual Kids Lit Quiz national finals took place at Oxford Town Hall.
The guest at the final was comedian Harry Enfield, who "did a reading from the first page of the new young James Bond book by Charlie Higson, which is not going to be available until 2011."

Neither Ian Fleming Publications or Puffin have issued any statements about the future of the Young Bond series, which concluded its inital run of five novels last year, ending in "By Royal Command". Subsequently, Higson produced the short story "A Hard Man To Kill" for the spin-off reference title "The Young Bond Dossier".

Charlie Higson is currently working on a young-reader horror trilogy for publisher Puffin. The first novel in the series, "The Enemy", was released this year. The second in the series is due for publication in 2010.

MI6 sources indicate Enfield incorrectly attributed the first page of Higson's new book to Young Bond, when it was actually from the zombie series.
