Director Christopher Nolan takes inspiration from James Bond films

05-Jun-2010 • Bond News

British helmsman of the "Batman" films, Christopher Nolan explained recently in an interview that he takes inspiration from the James Bond films -- Dark Horizons reports.

His most recent flick is a sci-fi thriller, "Inception" which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe and Michael Caine.

In an in-depth interview with Empire, the director discussed "Inception" which he says is "absolutely my Bond film. I've been plundering ruthlessly from the Bond movies in everything I've done, forever. They're a huge influence on me." Nolan also said his favourite is "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" because "it's by far the most emotional" and he tried to achieve a similar "balance of action, scale, and romanticism and tragedy and emotion" in "Inception".
