Seven 007 movies make it in to UK ultimate 'most attended' movie list

19-Aug-2010 • Bond News

Seven James Bond adventures have made it in to the top 100 ultimate films at the UK box-office, as measured by the number of tickets sold estimated by the British Film Institute.

Although the BFI data only currently runs to films released up to 2004 ("Casino Royale" would certainly make an appearance having tripled the UK box-office of "Die Another Day" at #80), "Thunderball" is clearly the most populous 007 outing in the UK with an estimated 15.6 million people having seen it on the big screen. Sean Connery's fourth time in the tuxedo ranks #18 overall.

According to research recently published by the BBC, film attendance in the UK is currently 1/8 of what it was during the mid-’40s, almost ensuring "Gone With The Wind" will forever remain #1.
