Sir Roger Moore to cameo in ITV 'Benidorm' show

22-Sep-2010 • Actor News

This has raised a few eyebrows – former 007 Roger Moore is to star in ITV1's Benidorm, reports Sky.

But will he be expected to wear tight Speedos and drink lager?

Years of seducing women in exotic locations around the world as James Bond should prove handy when Sir Roger Moore joins the cast of Benidorm. However, he won't be expected to pull on a pair of Speedos, neck lager and cause uproar around the pool, as he'll play a local dignitary.

The show managed to land Roger after producers learned he was a big fan of the hit comedy. A show insider said: "Roger is a massive fan so we thought it would be fun to get him involved. Producers approached his people and they said he'd love to, so we came up with a role for him. They've gone for something which they think he'll be comfortable with – a local dignitary".

The former 007 is due to fly to Spain in the next few days to film his scenes. Other cameos rumoured for this series include Cilla Black and Louie Spence.
