Bond alumni Chris Corbould wins SFX Oscar for 'Inception'

28-Feb-2011 • Bond News

Bond veteran Chris Corbould can now add "Oscar Winner" to his list of credentials after picking up the Oscar for Special Effects at this year's ceremony - the 83rd Academy Awards.

Corbould scooped the statue for his role as Special Effects Supervisor on "Inception", along with his team of Paul Franklin, Andrew Lockley and Peter Bebb. They beat off competition from “Alice in Wonderland”, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1”, “Hereafter” and “Iron Man 2”.

He was previously nominated in the same category for his work on "The Dark Knight".

Chris Corbould has worked on every James Bond film since "The Spy Who Loved Me" in 1977, for a total of thirteen 007 adventures to date.
