Timothy Dalton celebrates his 65th birthday today

Two-time James Bond actor, Timothy Dalton is today celebrating his 65th birthday.

The Shakespearian actor who played 007 in "The Living Daylights" (1987) and "Licence To Kill" (1989) in the was born in Colwyn Bay, Wales on this day in 1946.



He performed on stage from an early age with the National Youth Theatre, and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Dalton had a successful early career, playing frequently with London and local productions alike. 1968 saw him enter the film industry, with a small part in the award winning The Lion In Winter". He attacted the attention of Bond producers this same year and was a contender for the role of 007 in the '69 film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Dalton considered himself too young for the part at this age, just 23, and would return to the Bond family some 20 years later.
