Location: Athenaeum Music & Arts Library, 1008 Wall St, CA, 92037, USA
Date: Thursday 28th July 2011

What better way to enjoy a warm summer night in La Jolla than with a glass of wine and a classic movie out under the stars?

The Athenaeum kicks off it's fifth Film and Wine Summer Series this Thursday, July 28, at 8 p.m. and the flick pick is Dr. No, featuring James Bond.

The music and arts library has partnered for the season with wine connoisseur, Barbara Baxter, who will be featuring one of James Bond's favorite red wines, along with a champagne.

Ticket prices include the wine tastings and are $17 for Athenaeum members and $22 for non members. Season tickets for the five film series are also available, $75 for members, $100 for non members. If guests would like to sign up for memberships and take advantage of discounts for all events, memberships are $40 for the year, according to Jennifer Pyun, Athenaeum's PR manager.

"Blankets are always a great idea for when it gets chilly, but don't worry about chairs or snacks, we provide the seats and the popcorn," Pyun said.

Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made online at ljathenaeum.org or over the phone at 858-454-5872. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, but these events usually sell out quickly.

The schedule for future Flicks on the Bricks is as follows:

August 4, 8 p.m.: Goldfinger

August 11, 8 p.m.: Like Water for Chocolate

August 18, 8 p.m.: Julie and Julia

August 25, 8 p.m.: Gigi
