Sony moves Bin Laden movie to dodge Bond 23 release schedule

21-Oct-2011 • Skyfall

Oscar-winning Kathryn Bigelow has caused ripples within Hollywood ever since she first announced her next film would be about the life and demise of Osama Bin Laden. Some press reports even claim that the CIA has been leaking information about the killing of the terrorist leader so that her film treatment can be as accurate as possible.

Today, Sony Pictures announced it has decided to move the film's release away from the 23rd James Bond film and the 2012 presidential election. The Bin Laden movie was planned to open on October 12th 2012. Now it is expected to open sometime in early 2013.

Bond 23 opens in the USA on November 9th, just days after the presidential election in the USA.
