'Live And Let Die' buzz-saw watch fetches $198,000 at auction

13-Nov-2011 • Collecting

The famous buzz-saw watch from Roger Moore's first 007 adventure, "Live And Let Die" sold for 180,000 Swiss francs (150,000 euros, $198,000) at auction on Monday.

The watch failed to sell for its estimated 200,000+ francs at Christies in Geneva.

The Rolex Submariner is also depicted in the film as including a bullet-deflecting magnet which the spy uses to unzip ladies dresses, attract small boats and taunt his boss: "M".

Head of watches at Christie's Aurel Bacs said the European buyer was an enthusiast who wanted to remain anonymous.
