When they are not running stories about the bookmakers odds over who will take over from Daniel Craig, the tabloids take a quick breather and pump out a piece about how Daniel Craig will be staying in the role for at least one more film. It's an easy way to fill column inches...
Today's latest update comes from the Daily Mirror who tack on the tidbit that Barbara Broccoli is allegedly campaigning to have Adele come back to sing the Bond 25 title theme. Adele has previously said she would never record another movie theme song, having won an Oscar, Brit Award, Grammy and Golden Globe for 'Skyfall.' According to the paper, Broccoli is "talking the singer round."
A 'source' told the tabloid: "Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners. It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong con–sensus in the Bond offices is that Mr Craig is 007 again. As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive."
Craig’s actress wife Rachel Weisz, 47, is reportedly "on board with the decision" for him to spend a year away filming.
