Werner Herzog says he would be a 'good villain' in Bond

16-Oct-2016 • No Time To Die

Everyone enjoys having their name associated with James Bond and the brand has long carried a cachet among aspiring film actors. However, recently long-time producer/director Werner Herzog threw his name in the ring.

Promoting his new documentary 'Into the Inferno', the 74-year old filmmaker told Business Insider: “I think I would be a good villain in a James Bond movie.”

Herzog recently played Zec in the Tom Cruise-produced adaptation of Lee Child's thriller 'Jack Reacher'.

He was also critical of Bond's previous antagonists, which have included Mads Mikkelsen, Christoph Waltz and Javier Bardem – two of which are Oscar-winning actors. “They were fairly weak the last half-dozen of villains in James Bond movies. They weren’t that convincing.”
