2nd unit filming for Casino Royale is taking place in Black Park near Pinewood Studios this week. Set pictures and report!

Casino Royale Black Park Filming
5th July 2006

Fans who had heard the park adjacent to the famous 007 home Pinewood Studios would be seeing a little James Bond action stopped by yesterday for a view to a thrill. Casino Royale, the 21st entry in the series, is shooting some action with the 2nd unit at Black Park, situated immediately behind the studios.

Black Park is set within 530 acres of attractive woodland, grassland and heath land with a 13 acre centre-piece lake. The location has been used a number of times for James Bond films, including: the area around Auric Enterprises and the forest where Tilly masterson is killed in "Goldfinger" (1964), the forest chase sequence in "Octopussy" (1983), and the pipe-line explosion sequence from "The World Is Not Enough" (1999).

The scenes shot this week come from the beginning of Casino Royale, where the principal villains meet and conspire at an African village / military camp site.

Soldiers in costume as well as village 'locals' were on set today filming a few sequences, which as showing in the pictures below, also featured a helicopter, a jeep, trucks, various animals, lots of smoke and gunfire.

The production team had previously posted a notice to the public forewarning them of the filming activity:

Casino Royale Productions Limited
Please note that the new James Bond movie, Casino Royale, will be filming scenes in the middle of Black Park on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th July from approx. 0700-2000 hours. During our filming at Black Park there maybe the possibility of some gunfire for the scene, although it is not currently planned. We will have animals (dogs, goats & chickens) on our filming set as part of the scene. It would be greatly appreciated if you can keep dogs on leads around our filming area on filming days. We are liaising fully with the local authorities and also Black Park Rangers with regard to our filming. We apologies (sic) for any inconvenience caused during our visit to Black Park Country Park. If you have any queries please call the Black Park Rangers Office. Many thanks for your cooperation.
