In their August 18th 2006 edition, Entertainment Weekly ushered
in a new era of James Bond by featuring Daniel Craig as their
cover story. To celebrate the upcoming Casino Royale, EW took
a trip back in their time machine to see how the magazine might
have covered the earlier 007s.
Sean Connery - May 29th 1963
Bond #1 starred in six films, starting
his first run with Dr No in 1963 to You Only Live
Twice in 1967. Connery returned in 1971 for Diamonds
Are Forever, and the unofficial outing Never Say
Never Again in 1983.

Timothy Dalton - July 31st 1987
Bond #4 finally took on the 007 role
in 1987 having been offered it previously. Dalton
starred
in two films in the late 80's before resigning his
double-o status in 1993 after a long series hiatus.

a second revolution.

Pierce Brosnan - November 17th 1995
Bond #5 had a second shot at 007 after
missing out due to NBC contracts in 1987. His debut
outing in "GoldenEye" broke box-office records, but
his tenure ended bitterly 10 years later.

Bond #6 brought Bond back to basics
and his beginnings with a gritty debut outing in
"Casino Royale" in 2006. This is the actual
retail cover of EW which featured the other Bond's
inside.
