Daniel Craig on Bond 23 - 'I want to get going on it as quickly as possible'

25-Jul-2010 • Skyfall

Daniel Craig has given fans a brief update on his position on the currently suspended production of "Bond 23".

“Bond is on hold, but all I can say is I want to get going on it as quickly as possible.”

Craig gave the carefully worded response to a question pitched at Comic Con in San Diego, where he is promoting his upcoming film "Cowboys & Aliens".

The 23rd James Bond film was put on 'indefinite hold' by EON Productions back in April due to the continued financial uncertainty of studio MGM.

Last week, producer Michael G. Wilson also spoke to reassure fans that the franchise is far from over (contrary to what the tabloid press would have you believe). "Both Barbara [Broccoli] and I are convinced that we'll be bringing you another Bond film soon", he said,

Although the next film is on hold until MGM finds a buyer, Craig will appear as 007 twice this year in the Activision videogames "GoldenEye" and "Blood Stone".

Below is a new shot from the graphic novel adaptation "Cowboys & Aliens" where Craig plays Jake Lonergan. The sci-fi western is set for release on July 29th, 2011.
