Roger Moore appeared on MTV early on a Sunday morning to promote his final 007 outing in 1985
Who would be best suited to promote the new James Bond film on a music TV channel known for its young demographic? Duran Duran? No. Grace Jones? No. A 57 year-old Roger Moore? Yes. During the media tour for his final 007 outing "A View To A Kill", the marketing folk booked Moore for an appearance on MTV on a Sunday morning. How many of their viewers would be awake at that time? And it gets off to a slightly awkward start. "You're not church?" quips host Nina Blackwood, one of the original VJs on the music channel. (Note: Duran Duran's music video is cut for brevity).
