A new James Bond game is coming to Apple Arcade this month

A new official James Bond game for Apple Arcade was announced today: Cypher 007.
Players will be immersed in this beloved universe of espionage as they gather intel, uncover secrets, and use spycraft to overcome immersive levels filled with obstacles, opponents, and objectives that increase in difficulty as they progress.
Players will complete missions to bring down Blofeld and Spectre once and for all, and compete against other 007 agents around the world via leaderboards to prove they’re the best spy of all time.
The game has been developed by TiltingPoint, a studio based in Kyiv with an office in Barcelona, that specializes in free-to-play games for established brands.
You play as James Bond - a new James Bond created for this game. His appearance in the key art seems to lean towards Sean Connery, but the in-game screenshots are closer to Roger Moore. Previous 'synthetic' 007s for the game series have looked more like Pierce Brosnan. Either way, Daniel Craig's era is definitely over.
Details on the game are sparse, but level designs appear to be based on 'You Only Live Twice' and 'Skyfall'. Characatures of well-known roles in the series are used in an illustrative style and include Jaws, Blofeld, M, Moneypenny, and Q. This is probably to establish a timeless new world for Bond as it blends incongruent elements from the series, but it also helps avoid licensing and/or residual payments to cast members.
The announcement came as a surprise as the upcoming triple-A title 'Project 007' from IO Interactive is not expected to be released until at least late 2024. Recently, the re-release of 'GoldenEye: 007' on Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Xbox was met with mixed reactions.
'Cypher 007' will be released on Apple Arcade on September 29th, 2023, and will be available to subscribers. No plans have been announced for any other release outside of Apple Arcade.
