Actor Henry Cavill talks about his Bond audition and future chances

The media and many fans alike have been keen to push Henry Cavill as the successor to Daniel Craig to become the seventh James Bond actor in the EON Productions series. However, at 39, he has aged out of contention. This fact often goes ignored judging by the volume of YouTube thumbnails and clickbait articles that have multiplied over the past year.

He was screen tested for the Bond role back in 2005 but producers and director Martin Campbell ultimately went with Craig for 'Casino Royale', with Cavill going on to star as Superman in the DC Universe and appear in blockbusters such as 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout ' and 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'  More recently, he headlined the hit TV show 'The Witcher,' played the lead in Matthew Vaughn's upcoming spy movie 'Argylle,' and is set to star in 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare' featuring Ian Fleming.
