Young Bond author Charlie Higson to appear as James Bond in Miss Marple

27-Sep-2012 • Media Alert

Young Bond author Charlie Higson has adapted the Miss Marple adventure 'A Caribbean Mystery' for ITV1 – and will also have a cameo role as unassuming American ornithologist, James Bond.

In real life, Bond – an expert on the birds of the Caribbean – had his name appropriated by writer Ian Fleming for his famous fictional spy.

This new outing for Agatha Christie’s spinster sleuth will see Julia McKenzie return to the central role and is also to feature Robert Webb, Montserrat Lombard, Daniel Rigby, Hermione Norris, MyAnna Buring, Warren Brown and Antony Sher in supporting roles.

A Caribbean Mystery, which finds Miss Marple investigating the death of a guest at a lavish hotel on the tropical island of St Honore, will be broadcast on ITV1 in 2013. It is directed by Charlie Palmer, whose previous credits include Doctor Who and Death in Paradise.
