Dame Judi Dench talks about James Bond 21 film status, Pierce Brosnan and M

Dame Judi Dench made an unscheduled appearence on XFM London's radio show earlier this month, and was quizzed about the status of James Bond 21 and Pierce Brosnan by the host.

Are you still going to be staying on with whoever they get to be the new Bond?

Yes, I believe we were due to start shooting the new Bond [film] in January or February, but I think it's going to be delayed now. Maybe until the end of next year [2005].



Is Pierce going to be doing it? Because Pierce is a great Bond, isn't he?

I quite agree. I don't know, I haven't heard from Pierce and I haven't been in touch with [the producers]. But naturally I hope so, because he and I started together on GoldenEye. I hope he is. But if not, then we look forward to a new Bond. Who knows?
