Daniel Craig offered 3 film contract to play James Bond #6 claims tabloid

06-Apr-2005 • Casino Royale

The Sun (UK) claim today that Daniel Craig has been picked by producer Barbara Broccoli to become the sixth James Bond 007 in a three-film deal.

The actor has most recently been winning acclaim for his standout performances as a middle-rank gangster in Layer Cake and the rational journalist driven to the end of his tether in Enduring Love. UK television viewers may have seen him as Fluke Kelso in the small screen adaptation of Robert Harris's Archangel just a couple of weeks ago.

The paper's story comes off the back of rival newspaper group the Express Group running articles at the weekend that said Clive Owen will be confirmed in the next few days as 007 #6.

The Sun even stuck its neck out last December for Colin Salmon as the first black Bond.

Thanks to `Danny Parker` for the alert.
