Reality check - Amy Winehouse denies the wild tabloid rumours

11-May-2007 • Quantum Of Solace

Enjoy this rare moment in the mass media - a denial of a James Bond rumour has been published.

Back in November last year, singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse was tipped as a potential artist for the theme song for 22nd James Bond film. She was quoted by ITN as saying "we've been in contact with the James Bond people and hopefully that'll come off in the future."

Fast forward to this month, and lazy tabloid journalists reheated the rumour falsely linking Winehouse to a Bond girl role. MI6 editorial decided to not publish the superfluous hot air.

In a refreshing rebuttal, Winehouse told MTV "I'm just not an actress... It can't be true".

But when asked whether there was any truth to the original rumour, Winehouse enthusiastically said she would like to contribute to the soundtrack.
