Bond 25 was back shooting in Norway today as a second unit crew took to the roads and sky in the north of the country.
As previously reported, Bond 25 was scheduled to shoot along the spectacular stretch of road at the Atlantic Ocean Road ('Atlanterhavsvegen') from June 5th to June 14th, 2019.
The 5.2 mile stretch of road is preserved as a cultural heritage site and is classified as a National Tourist Route. It is a popular site to film automotive commercials, has been declared the world's best road trip.
To the surprise of many, one of James Bond's earlier cars was back in action. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage was seen in 1987's 'The Living Daylights'. The car used for today's filming also had the same B549 WUU number plate registration. (Note: 'Volante' was the convertible version seen at the beginning of that film).
Some fans have speculated that this will be a flashback sequence, but when Daniel Craig was cast, the series had a hard reboot and the timeline was restarted with Bond becoming a 00-agent in 2006. Also, the shots include modern-day Range Rover vehicles following the Aston Martin.
Unrelated to filming, there was a prior BMW event on the road that caused headaches for film production due to long tire marks on the asphalt, but line producer Per Henry Borch said they have no choice but to film.
